Obituary of Paul J. Mastrangelo
Paul J. Mastrangelo, 67, of South Orange, NJ
Paul Joseph Mastrangelo, age 67, of South Orange, NJ passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Born on October 20, 1957 in Newark, Paul was a lifelong resident of South Orange. He earned both his undergraduate and master's degrees from Rutgers University, with his master's in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Paul dedicated more than 30 years of his professional life to serving the community through his work at CrossRoads Pharmacy in Elizabeth.
Paul's intellectual curiosity, kindness and unassuming nature was evident in many areas of his life.
He was extremely well read on a variety of topics from historical and other nonfiction, mysteries, fiction (i.e. Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones) to art, music and popular culture.
An avid New York Times crossword puzzle solver, he could successfully complete them in record time including the Sunday puzzle.
An amateur accomplished chef, he especially enjoyed cooking with and for his family during the holidays and watching classic old movies and cooking shows with his nieces.
Paul was predeceased by his beloved parents (Frank Robert Mastrangelo and Teresa Emma (Bozza) Mastrangelo and sister, Maria Mastrangelo (Sacher).
He is survived by his loving siblings, Teresa Mastrangelo Moreland and John Mastrangelo, his cherished nieces, Andrea and Kara Moreland, several close cousins and other relatives, sister-law Joanne Ferenczi and brothers-in law Richard Moreland and Dallas Sacher.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, with location and details to be determined.
Paul will be remembered for his quiet strength, generosity, gentle sense of humor, dedication to his work, and deep love for his family and community.
