Pauline Frances Rothwell, 89, of Sparta, IL; born on April 13, 1935, in Tilden, IL the daughter of Fred and Amy (née, Chappell) Rody; passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Pauline was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church, and she was a Sunday school teacher at Tilden First Baptist Church. Pauline attended BAC and obtained her degree. Pauline worked at Specialty Frame shop, Sparta School District 140 as a teacher's aide, and secretary from 1978-2011. Pauline also served as Tilden Village Clerk for 30 years. Pauline loved to dance, she enjoyed traveling with Gail and Lee Rainey, a long-time Sunday school teacher friend. Pauline was an excellent cook. She made the best fried apple pies, and her butter tarts were delicious.
Pauline is survived by two Sisters – Madeline Hatridge of Tilden, IL and Marylou Braeutigam of Tilden, IL; Daughter-in-law – Janet Rothwell of Fairview Heights, IL; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, Son – Mark Rothwell; Daughter- Gail Rothwell; Son-in-law – Frank Perry; Sisters – Thelma Rody, Frieda Washner, Eva Rothwell, Bertha Hilderbrand; One Brother – Joe Robinson.
Memorials contributions may be made to Tilden Scholarship Fund.

The Visitation will be held at Tilden First Baptist Church in Tilden, IL on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Hahn and Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Committal Services will take place at Tilden Cemetery.
