Pauline A. Smith, 84, of Beachway Road, North Smithfield, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 6th at the Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Nicolae (Bistran) Smith. She was also the wife of the late Clifford Smith.
Born in Hudson Falls, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph LaRoe and Lillian (LaRoe) Sawyer. She was the sister of the late Olive Breault and the sister-in-law of Raymond Breault.
She had lived in North Smithfield for 33 years previously living in Central Falls.
Pauline had worked for Corning Glass/Osram for 25 years before retiring.
She was a loving mother and liked to cook, read and tend to her plants.
Besides her husband, she leaves behind her daughters: Patricia Gareau and her husband Kevin of RI, Nancy Salisbury of CT, Carolynn West of TX and predeceased by Joyce Smith of Fl. She was the grandmother of Melinda Salisbury, Heather Salisbury, Andrew Salisbury, Corey West, Nicholas Gareau, Amy Gareau, Rebecca Miron and the late Bradley West. She was also the great-grandmother of Andrew and Lilliana.
Her family gathered for a private memorial celebration of Pauline's life.
