Pedro Arvizu Gonzales, 68, passed away on March 12, 2025. Pedro was born on July 2, 1956 in La Rodada, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Luis and Casilda Gonzales.
At the age of 18, he began traveling to Texas for work, and six years later settled in Washington County with his wife and three daughters, making Brenham, Texas their home in 1982. Pedro was most at home in the country and spent his time doing what he loved- working cattle, playing cards, drinking with his buddies, and competing in wild steer saddling and calf roping at the Washington County Fair. Above all, he was a devoted husband to Valeriana, his wife of 51 years, father to eight daughters, grandfather to nine grandchildren and a friend to many. He will be missed with every shared drink, every hand of cards and every gathering of family and friends.
Pedro is preceded in death by his father, Luis Gonzales and his father and mother in law, Jose and Alejandra Castillo. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Valeriana Gonzalez, his mother, Casilda Arvizu, his eight daughters, Sara (Rene) Escobedo, Esmeralda (Alex) Turner, Sandra Gonzalez, Alexandria Gonzales, Gloria Gonzales, Vernita Reyes, Diana Gonzalez and Rita Gonzalez, his siblings, Marcial Noyola and Margarita Sanchez.
