Peggy Lee Benda, (Pegalee) 77 passed away unexpectedly] Thursday July 3, 2025 in Sonoma, California. She was a graduate of the 1966 class of South Tama County High School, Tama, lowa.
She received her degree and devoted her life career as a Disability Social Worker. A career in social work with individuals with disabilities offers a variety of paths focused on empowering and supporting individuals and their families. The family wishes to honor her decision to advance medical science by donating her body to the University of California, School of Medicine, San Francisco.
Peggy, "You bring happiness to so many people in so many ways. Your warm, sensitive way with people is a special gift. Your good nature is a special gift. Your humor is a special gift. Your generosity is a social gift. YOU are a special gift! a friend wrote it,..but it is 100% true for the life of our Peg.
Pegalee is survived and loved by her two brothers; Robert and Deb Benda and Richard and Sherry Benda, stepsister's, Cheryl Korte, Kathy Lebeda and Glena Lebeda a special friend Sue Palmer, nieces and nephews, Kristin, Kelly, Kirk, Vance, Derek, Brooke, Megan, Austin, and cousins Bonnie, Ron Dean, Kim, and many many friends, including Catherin Raio. Preceding her in death were her parents, Wilbert and Bernice Benda Labeda and stepfather, James Lebeda.
Donations in her memory may be made by hugging your pet, smiling at someone, and wishing them a special day. Pegalee was a devoted animal rights advocate.
