It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy Cash, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully due to natural causes on May 21, 2025, at the age of 90. Peggy was born on February 19, 1935, and spent her life in the warmth of Isabella, TN, where she created countless cherished memories with her family and friends.
Peggy was a nurturing spirit, known for her unwavering love and support for her nine children: Mickie (Doug) Cook, Donna (Ray) Worley, Andy Cash, Tony (Melinda) Cash, Tina (Greg) Morrow, Daniel Cash, Sam Cash, Andrew (Shanna) Cash and Karl Cash. Her home was a gathering place filled with laughter, stories, and unconditional love. Peggy was also a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren, who will forever carry her legacy in their hearts: Teddy Cash, Jessica Wallen, Elizabeth Cash, Rachel Cash, Tonya Cash, Shawn Cash, Hannah Cash, Jason Morrow, Kyleigh Cash, Rebecca Cash, Cheylynn Cash, James Cash, and Grayson Cash. Also many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Peggy was preceded in death by: Melvin Cash, Earl Goodman York, Mary Lee York, Geneva Cash, Rodney Cash, Edwin York, Edith York, Richard York, Betty York, Betty DuVall, Jack DuVall, Elsie Mae York, Mary Jordan, Alvin York, Pete York, David York, Greg Worley, Jacob Cash, Lilly Cash
Peggy is survived by her devoted brother Mack (Pinky) York and her sister Marcella Shearin, who will miss her dearly. Her family and friends knew her as a woman of grace and compassion, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew and loved her.
A Funeral Service will be held in her honor on May 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Homes & Crematories McCaysville Chapel. Prior to the service, there will be a Visitation on Sunday, May 25, 2025, starting at 5:00 PM, allowing friends and family to share their memories and say their final goodbyes.
Following the service, Peggy will be laid to rest in a serene location at 198 Shady Grove Road, Murphy, NC, where her loved ones may visit and reflect on the beautiful life she lived.
In these moments of sorrow, let us cherish the memories and legacy of Peggy Cash-a woman whose love knew no bounds. May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find comfort in the love she so freely gave.
