Peggy Sue Foster Hoyt passed peacefully on Independence Day, July 4th, 2025. Peggy was known to friends and family for her humor, kindness, and faith, and above all for the deep and abiding love she had for those she held dear.
Peggy was born October 3rd, 1949, in Port Arthur, Texas to Thomas "Tommy" and Ada (Bedford) Foster. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baton Rouge and Louisiana State University, of which she remained a committed fan, and she earned a master's degree in education from Lamar University. Peggy worked as a teacher for many years in Texas, touching countless lives with her love of learning and keen wit.
She is survived by her daughter Lauren Hoyt, son David Hoyt, grandchildren Virginia and Blakely Hoyt, brother Kirk Foster, and sister Jody Ballard. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her well. She is preceded in passing by her former husband Dan Hoyt and her beloved parents Tommy and Ada.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 15th, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park Dr, Huntsville, TX 77340, followed by interment at Brooke Cemetery, 672 FM 980 Rd, Huntsville, TX 77320. Memorial condolences may be made to the family at www.shmfh.com
