Peter F. Bourque, 65, of
Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in
Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Robert F. and Dorothy (Buxton) Bourque. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Donna (Bachiochi) Bourque; his daughter Danielle, and son Peter and his fiancé Allison Conklin; along with Penny, his golden retriever sidekick. Pete also leaves behind his sister, Claire Niederwerfer and her husband Frank; brother, Stephen Bourque and his wife Kathy; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Jill Bachiochi, Michael and Linda Bachiochi, Peter Bachiochi, and Lisa Bachiochi and Bill Keane; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Daniel Bourque and Robert R. Bourque.
Pete Bourque was an expert builder whose craftsmanship graced many homes around northeastern Connecticut, including his own. With an easy smile and a firm handshake, the relationships Pete had with his clients went far beyond the realm of business, as those who crossed his path regarded him as one of the friendliest folks they'd ever met. The Kealy Field batting cages along with many homes in town bear the marks of Pete's master carpentry, and many youngsters benefitted from the Little League coaching this man was always happy to give. Naturally, the joyful and excited cheers Pete extended for his own kids reverberates still, and remains forever etched in their hearts and minds.
While the affection and dedication Pete had for his hometown of Stafford was enormous, it may well have been matched by his enduring love for the Boston Bruins, with the special highlights of meeting some of the best whoever donned a pair of skates, Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque, and Gordie Howe. Pete himself was an active hockey player and prized teammate on the ice for over 50 years, not to mention his skill as a local stock car driver known as "Concrete Pete."
Still, nothing and no one held a place nearer and dearer in Pete's heart than Donna, his devoted wife and best friend. They crafted a wonderful life together and the love they shared and extended to others remains palpable to this day, enduring for the ages.
The family would like to thank the many friends who reached out, visited, and shared many happy memories with Pete during these last few months. A special note of gratitude is extended to Beacon Hospice for their amazing care and compassion.
