Phillip Bower, age 86, of Webster, WI, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Ecumen in North Branch, Minnesota. Phill was born in Bertha, Minnesota, on June 20, 1938. Phill went to high school in Grand Marais, Minnesota, in 1956.
He worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in St. Paul, Minnesota, from 1956 until his retirement in 1985, at the age of 47! He married Maxine in 1960. She passed away that same year during childbirth. Phil met Kay Stuhr in 1962 and they were married on March 3, 1963.
During their marriage, Phil and Kay resided in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and Hugo, Minnesota, before moving to Webster, Wisconsin, and residing there for the last 32 years. His family and home in the woods in Webster were the highlight of his life. Phil's passion was old cars, which he collected. He passionately attended car shows and races with his sons and friends, and when he was home, he enjoyed watching car racing, football, and hockey on TV.
Phil is survived by his loving wife, Kay; sons, Greg (Sandy) and Mike (Tonia); grandchildren, Phil (Kaylyn), Ashley (Bryan), Nathan, Mike Jr., and Amanda (Shane); as well as three great-grandchildren, Skylyn, Payge, and Marias from Phil and Kaylyn.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Yellow Lake Lutheran Church north of Webster. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service. A luncheon will be held after the service. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.swedberg-taylor.com.
