Mr. Phillip Ira Sperbeck, 90, of Lecompte, entered eternal rest on Friday, July 18, 2025, in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Phil was a passionate reader and a true history buff. A proud Mason, Shriner, and dedicated member of the Blue Lodge, he embodied the values of brotherhood and service throughout his life. Phil was also a renowned musician, performing alongside famous artists across the country. His greatest musical passion was the pedal steel guitar, which he fell in love with at the young age of fifteen. His remarkable talent and lifelong dedication to his craft left a lasting impression on all who heard him play. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Philene Burgin; and his parents, Ira Martin and Alma Sperbeck.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-five years, Cynthia Sperbeck of Lecompte; two sons, William Basco and Nathaniel Basco (Tiffany); four daughters, Christy Kenyon, Wendy Duck, Kathy Rose, and Brittney Friend (Robby); two grandsons, Peyton Friend and Jackson Friend; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, LA.
