Price Wayne Lea, born on August 2, 1953, in Perryton, Texas to Bobbie Jack Lea and Beatrice Lorene Karber, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025. He was a beloved member of the community, known for his unwavering dedication to family, work, and the many friendships he forged throughout his life.
Price had a distinguished career, working as an Operator at the Conoco Phillips Refinery for an impressive 30 years until his retirement. Even after leaving the workforce, his expertise remained invaluable, as the plant would often seek his guidance on various operations, a testament to his exceptional skill and knowledge in his field.
A proud veteran, Price served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, exemplifying the values of commitment and bravery that he carried with him throughout his life. His ability to teach and mentor others was evident in both his professional and personal life. He took joy in helping others identify problems and encouraging them to develop solutions, reflecting his belief in the importance of self-discovery and learning.
Price was a man of many interests and talents. He found delight in fishing, engaging in solar panel projects, and exploring the possibilities of 3D printing. His home was often filled with laughter and joy, especially during movie nights in the home theater he crafted above the garage. A genuine family man, he cherished spoiling his grandchildren and created countless memories with them, especially during the Fourth of July celebrations filled with fireworks. Price had a sweet tooth, enjoying treats such as cupcakes, Kahlua kisses, Queen Anne's dark chocolate cherries, and divinity.
His character was known for its ornery charm and quick wit; he loved to crack jokes and could light up a room with his humor. Price was hardworking and stubborn, traits that he exhibited in all endeavors. He was also a collector of many things, including guns, drones, and RC helicopters, always tinkering with technology and never shying away from a new project.
Price was deeply proud of his family, especially his sons and grandchildren.
He is survived by his son Raymond Lea, son Dennis Lea and his wife Paula; daughter Mary Ann; grandchildren Mikala and her husband Matt, Kristina and her husband Joe, Hannah, Ime, Kiera, Ian, and Cami; sister Pam Walker and her husband Danny; sister Bobbie Jo Dulaney, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie Lea and Lorene Taylor, who surely welcomed him with open arms.
P. Lea will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Celebration Family Church in Fritch.
