Man, I don´t even know where to start. Growing up without a father, I was looking for that example-someone to keep it real and tell me what´s what. You stepped into that role like a big brother, and you did it without cutting no corners.
You were always straight-up honest with me. When I was acting wild, you didn´t let me off easy-you called me out. Even when you were facing your own issues, you still pointed me in the right direction. That honesty? That backbone? It taught me what real loyalty and leadership look like.
I remember you laughing when you'd tell me, "Bro, your life special," and at first I´d laugh it off too. But deep down, hearing it from you-someone who´d seen it all-it stuck. You made me believe I could rise above everything-above the streets, the noise, the expectations. Your voice became a mirror, showing me that I wasn´t just another kid-I was somebody with purpose.
From rough days on the block to late nights just talking life, you showed up. You weren't just there-you held me down. You taught me accountability, showed me strength in vulnerability, and you taught me to stand strong when everything around me was shaky.
So now as you take your next steps, I want you to know-every shout, every push, every "Life´s on you, fam"-it changed me. I walk taller now because you walked with me first. I´m carrying your lessons into my future, like badges of honor.
This ain´t goodbye... it´s love. It´s respect. It´s "see you when we see you." I got your back, just like you had mine. And I know deep down you´ll always have mine too.
Keep being that real dude, speaking truth, and lifting people up. We need more of that in this world. Wherever you go, whatever you do-you´re that brotherhood I always needed, and I´m forever grateful.
Respect and gratitude, always,
Chris Gladney
