Rafael Rodriguez Alvarado, 84, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Carmen Iris Labrador Alvarado, passed away on September 15, 2025. Born on April 14, 1941 in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Guillermo Alvarado and Porfiria Rodriguez.
Rafael was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. With his beautiful green eyes and calm presence, he was a grounding force in the lives of those who knew and loved him. A devoted family man, Rafael expressed his love not through grand speeches, but through his steady support, his cheeky smile, and the meals he lovingly prepared.
A talented chef by trade and by heart, Rafael found joy in cooking, especially when it came to making pizza at home for those he loved. The kitchen was his canvas, and food was his way of bringing people together.
Rafael's journey was one of growth and quiet conviction. Later in life, he embraced his faith with sincerity and was baptized at Kingdom Life Christian Church in Milford, a moment that marked a profound chapter in his life.
He was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, loved watching wrestling, and never missed a chance to enjoy a good episode of "The Honeymooners". Music brought him joy-particularly the sounds of Puerto Rican jíbaro, which he loved to dance to with a spark in his eye and rhythm in his step.
Hardworking and humble, Rafael carried himself with resilience and grace. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Along with his wife, Carmen, Rafael is survived by his children, Gerardo Alvarado, Jose Alvarado, Fernando Alvarado, Wanda Alvarado Rivera, Javier Alvarado, Melissa Ramirez, and Juan Moya; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his siblings, Eduardo, Norma Iris, and Hilda. Rafael is predeceased by his brothers, Luis and Felix.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday October 2, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Kingdom Life Church,1455 Naugatuck Ave, Milford CT 06461.
