Ralph Richard Barber, 83, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 2, 2025, in Venice, Florida.
Born on January 31, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, Ralph was the son of Roy and Blendon Barber. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from Worthington High School as part of the Class of 1960.
Ralph shared a remarkable 63-year marriage with his beloved wife, Carol Barber. Together they built a life centered around love, family, and shared joy. Ralph and Carol were proud owners of 5th Avenue Floral Co. in Columbus for over 30 years, creating lasting beauty and connections in their community.
Ralph was a devoted dad to Kim (Todd) Fitz and Kevin (Lana) Barber. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, who know him as Pa: Jenni (Jonathan) Smith, Jason (Cara) Barber, Monica (Darian) Barber, Steven (Stacia) Miller, and Alyssa Miller (Clinton). He also cherished his great-grandchildren: Rylan Barber, Landric Smith, Brynley Smith, Grace Miller, and Graham Miller.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents and his brother Roy Barber.
A man who found joy in life's simple pleasures, Ralph cherished time with his family above all else. Some of his happiest moments were spent gathered around the TV, cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. His love for sports went beyond watching - over the years, he enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and bowling. No matter the season, you could count on Ralph proudly wearing scarlet and gray.
Ralph also had a soft spot for animals and leaves behind two cherished cats, Baby Girl and Glenda. Known for appreciating a good meal and good company alike, Ralph brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.
He left a loving mark on his family's hearts. He will be deeply missed.
