Ralph Swanson Obituary

Ralph Bertil Swanson, age 91, of St Michael, MN, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandpa, and a loyal friend to many.
Ralph was a devoted Christian, generously serving many roles in every church he faithfully attended over the years. His life is a testament to his devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ralph and Delores were married for 65 years until her passing in 2023. He is survived by his son Michael (Kathy) and daughters Karin Ness (Dave) and Ann Leon (Marrio). Ralph was a cherished grandfather to Erika, Sydney, William, Laura, Alexa, Nick and his six great-grandchildren.
Ralph is preceded in death by his Swedish immigrant parents John and Elsa Swanson and his 5 siblings and their spouses. He was very proud of his Swedish heritage.
A longtime resident of Brooklyn Center, MN. Ralph was a 38-year employee at Graco in Minneapolis. His loyalty to Graco was rewarded with an early retirement and a move to their new home on Crook Neck Lake in Lincoln, MN. Ralph and Delores would then spend winters in Apache Junction, AZ. He enjoyed his deep friendships in both areas. The past several years of happy independent living were spent at Legacy of St. Michael, MN.
In his free time, Ralph enjoyed camping, fishing, hosting guests at the cabin, reading WWII history books and tinkering around his house and volunteering at his church. Ralph's famous lefse was in high demand every Christmas. His sense of humor brought laughter to many. Sometimes the chuckles were even unintentional.
On Tuesday, July 15, a memorial service to celebrate Ralph's life will be held at The Peterson Chapel located at 300 Main Street, St Michael, MN 55376. The visitation will begin at 1:00pm, followed by the service at 2:00pm. A reception will following the service.
Ralph Swanson will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
