Ramona Lucille "Mona" Denny (Stefes) ObituaryRamona "Mona" Lucille Denny, June 2, 1931 - July 17, 2025 With humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of Ramona "Mona" Lucille Denny on July 17, 2025. She was a resident of Deephaven Woods Senior Living. Mona grew up in Sauk Centre, MN. She was just ten years old when she lost her mother to cancer - an experience that left a lasting impression. Mona often spoke of her mother with deep love and pride, and that maternal influence shaped the compassionate, nurturing woman she became. Mona will be remembered for her altruistic spirit and deep care for others. She was truly born to be a mom, proudly embracing all the roles that came with motherhood - CEO, taxi driver, referee, and more. One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards, and she especially cherished those moments spent with friends and family around the card table. Her faith and involvement in church were deeply important to her. She was, and will always be, our angel. Mona will be missed tremendously by all her loving family and friends. Mona was the beloved daughter of Ralph and Lucille Steffes, who precede her in death, along with her siblings Bud Steffes, MaryAnn Metcalf, Richard Steffes, Lorraine Weyhrich, and Jean Johnson. She is also preceded in death by her former husband and dear friend, William Denny, and her daughter-in-law, Karen Rishavy Denny. Mona is survived by her brother Fr. Ray Steffes, OSC, children Mike Denny, David (Jae Briggs) Denny, Sheila (Jim Andrews) Denny-Andrews and Bob (Misty) Denny, grandchildren Jess (Eric Ensminger) Denny, Meghan (Zach) Pate, Ryan (Tanya) Denny, Danielle (Shaun) Bopp, Nathan (Amanda) Denny, Eric (Jenn) Andrews, Peter (Kelsey) Andrews, Matt Andrews, Brianna Fief, Mikhaela (Alex Brose) Denny, 17 great-grandchildren (plus one on the way), numerous nieces, nephews and friends, in addition to former daughter-in-law and caregiver Jill Trzynka. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Therese of Deephaven, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd., Deephaven MN 55391, on Thursday, July 31 at 11am with visitation beginning at 10 am. A luncheon will follow the Mass. In honor of Mona's love for the color blue, the family invites you to join them in wearing blue to the Mass. Memorials preferred to Crosier Fathers and Brothers (Crosier.org) or St. Therese of Deephaven. The family extends its deepest gratitude to the staff and volunteers of Deephaven Woods for the selfless and loving care they provided to Mona.
