Christian Biography of Randi Thornberry
Randi Lee Thornberry, age 64, of Nelson, Nebraska, passed peacefully on July 7, 2025, at Bryan LGH Medical Center West in Lincoln.
Born March 5, 1961, in Aurora, Nebraska, to Larry and Doris (Peters) Thornberry, Randi was a cherished son who grew up in several wonderful Nebraska communities, Aurora, Superior, Clay Center, and Nelson. A graduate of Nelson High School, he carried the values and friendships forged in Clay Center and Nelson throughout his life.
Randi worked for many years as a dedicated truck driver, a profession that suited his love of the open road and his dependable nature. His favorite memories were of fishing trips to Alabama and hunting adventures in Nuckolls County.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Ensign; grandparents Willis and Neva Thornberry and Herbert and Lola Peters; and his aunts and uncles Marv and Elaine Thayer and Jim and Shirley Peters.
Randi is survived by his loving parents, Larry and Doris of Nelson; his son, Gariv Thornberry of Norton, Kansas; his sister, Vicki Ensign of Nelson; nieces Jessi (Nathan) Hoeft of Hastings and Kelly (William) Karr of Blue Hill; his great nephews Caleb and Jacob Karr; as well as many other relatives and a host of dear friends who treasured his friendship.
