Raul Parra Valencia, a cherished patriarch and beacon of love and courage, departed this world on July 26, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, concluding a vibrant journey that began on October 31, 1944, in Ranchos de Santiago, Chihuahua, Mexico. He lived a rich life, filled with devotion and faith to God, the joy of family, the satisfaction of work well done, and the simple pleasures of life.

Raul's story is one of unwavering respect for others and dedication to his loved ones. He was the cornerstone of the Parra Ordoñez family, a role he embraced with the same honor and strength as his late parents, Manuel Parra Chavez and Cruz Valencia de Parra. Although his beloved sister Socorro predeceased him, Raul's legacy is carried on through his devoted wife of 60 years, Teresa Ordoñez de Parra, who stood by his side throughout every chapter of their lives together, from their first meeting to their golden years.

Together, Raul and Teresa raised a family that grew to encompass not just their children-Fabiola, Jorge Luis and his wife Lilia, Dagoberto and his wife Cintia, Mario Hector and his wife Lizeth, Leonila, Maria Isabel and her husband Saul, and David and his wife Ledy-but also a joyous collection of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. "Papi Raul's" love and lessons are reflected in each of them: Leonardo, Marisa, Cameron, Evan, Fabian, Crystal, Kenedi, Lily, Paola, Leslie, Jax, Katiana, Abigail, Olivia, Lukah, Isabela, Mariana, Damian, and Gabriela, and the youngest blossoms of the family tree, great-granddaughters Lucy, Olive, Camila, and Melody. Also left to mourn Raul's passing are his siblings Mercedes, Manuel, Raymundo, Santiago, Isidro, and Jose, who always held a very special place in his heart.

A hard worker throughout his life, Raul was the epitome of respect and generosity, always placing others before himself. His colleagues and friends knew him as a man of integrity, one who would go to great lengths to support those around him. Raul was the warrior of his family, a hero in the everyday sense, who tackled life's challenges with a courageous heart.

Raul's interests painted the picture of a man who savored life's simple joys. He had a passion for puzzles and mathematics, a testament to his love for problem-solving and intellectual pursuits. Music filled his home with melody and memories, while his love for cookouts and good times became the hallmark of family gatherings. Above all, Raul loved his family unyieldingly and took every opportunity to make them feel cherished.

In remembering Raul, we recall a man who embodied love and courage. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
