Matthews MortuaryRaymond C. Fuller, age 90, was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean war, serving overseas 18 months. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Indianapolis, Indiana University and the University of Tennessee. He was a 65-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, Local 481 in Indianapolis. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign War. He was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg, Indiana where he was active in coaching boys football, basketball and track teams for many years. Ray was awarded the Monsignor Busard and the St. John Bosco awards for his many years of service in the CYO.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Ann Archambault Fuller. He is survived by his wife, Lana Doncaster; sons, Christopher (Ellen) Clayton, In., David (Vicky), Pittsboro, In., daughters Andrea Fuller Rader (Rick) Brownsburg, In., Barbara Fuller Kuhn (Pete), Columbus, In., Emily Fuller Hutsell (Chad), Plymouth, In., Heather Doncaster, Knoxville, Tn., 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and extended families. He was most proud of all his children for their accomplishments and contributions to society. He was equally proud of all his grandchildren, 13 of the first 15 graduated from college; several with advanced degrees.
He loved traveling to different countries, including China, Japan, Europe – several times, several South American countries. He also visited Hawaii, Alaska, Florida’s Key West, Ottawa, Canada, Port-au-Prince Haiti, Cuba, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. He loved traveling to National Parks. His favorite past time was playing golf and attempting to read a book a week. He loved vacationing on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 858 Louisville Road Alcoa, TN August 9th at 11:00am and receiving guests from 10-11am an hour before the Memorial Mass begins.
A mass of Christian burial will be Monday, August 11th at 11:30am at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 9833 East County Road 750 North Brownsburg Indiana. Military honors and inurnment will follow at St. Malachy Cemetery.
Arrangements are being made by Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Malachy Catholic School endowment fund.
