DOYLESTOWN - Raymond Roy Harmon, age 58, of Doylestown, formerly of Barberton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Born on August 13, 1966, in Barberton, Ohio, Ray was the son of the late Ronald and Virginia "Ruth" (Fites) Harmon. A proud graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1985, he went on to serve his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army for over 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class with the "Big Red One" First Battalion in 5th Field Artillery Regiment. His military service included a tour in the Iraq War, where his dedication and leadership left a lasting impact.
On December 23, 1988, Ray married the love of his life, Robin R. Renick, in Greensburg, Ohio. Together they built a life rooted in mutual respect, devotion, and deep family bonds.
Ray had a passion for woodworking and was a lifelong student of military history and political science. He also had a love for music and performance; memories of his high school musicals remained a cherished part of his life.
Ray's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Robin; their daughters Robyn (Raven) Smith-Harmon and Ruthann "Brooke" Harmon, both of Doylestown, and Margaret Rhea Renick of Concordia, Kansas; siblings Donald (Traci) Harmon, Daniel Harmon, James (Kimberly) Harmon, and Verna (Richard) Naugle; step mother-in-law Mary Renick; and mother-in-law Cheryl Renick.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Julia Jarvis, and father-in-law, Robert Renick.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman.
Graveside services with full military honors will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 600 River Ave Suite 400, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, woundedwarriorproject.org, or to any organization supporting veterans.
