Rebecca McGee, 62, of Marion, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, at Herrin Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Born March 5, 1963, to the late Bobby Lee Samples and Romalee (Lindsey) Samples. She married David “Dave” McGee Jr. on July 12, 1985, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Rebecca earned her associate's degree and devoted 15 years to her role as a physical therapy technician at Herrin Hospital, where she was known for her gentle touch and compassionate care. Earlier in life, she took pride in her work as an assembler at Maytag.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joe Samples.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband Dave; her son, Chase McGee; and her brother, Gary (Martha) Samples.

Services to honor Rebecca’s life have been entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Blue Funeral Home, 1704 N. Court Street, Marion, IL. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Dale McGee. Entombment will take place at Egyptian Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, in recognition of their compassionate support.
