Regina Dawn Hensley, age 58, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at her home.
Born on November 29, 1966, in Los Angeles, California to Howard Holland and Susan Colasanti.Throughout her life, Regina met many challenges with courage and determination. Despite her struggles, she was a devoted mother who deeply cherished her children, demonstrating remarkable resilience in the face of adversity.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Andrew Holland; her father, Howard Holland; and her mother, Susan Colasanti.
Regina is survived by two children. Her son, Jeffrey Woody and his wife Melissa, who reside in Severance, Colorado. Her daughter, Brittney Woody and her husband Christian, who reside in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by her two brothers, Howard "Buddy" Holland and Michael Holland.
Regina worked as a server at Waffle House, where her bright smile and caring nature made her beloved by both customers and coworkers alike. She built lasting friendships that became like family, bringing joy to every shift.
She was passionate about music, movies, and crafts, often sharing her creative projects and favorite songs with those around her. Regina had an extraordinary ability to connect with others who were going through hard times. Her own life experiences gave her a unique understanding and compassion for those facing similar battles. She acknowledged life's pain honestly while holding space for the possibility of change.
Those who knew Regina understood that she fought many battles. While her journey wasn't always easy, she showed moments of genuine kindness and had the ability to make others feel less alone in their struggles.
Regina's story reminds us that everyone faces struggles, and that compassion and understanding matter more than perfection. Though her path was difficult, the love she had for her family was real, and her memory will be held with tenderness by those who cared for her.
A celebration of Regina's life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hardy & Son Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Come as you are to share memories, laughter, and stories that honor the remarkable woman she was.
