Naomi Walp Obituary
Naomi Ruth (McCreary) Walp, 90, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 29, 1935, in Denton, MD, Naomi was a cherished soul whose life was a beautiful symphony of love, grace, and quiet dedication.
Naomi was the beloved daughter of the late David Ralph McCreary, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Sharpneck) McCreary. She was the treasured wife of the late Galen E. Walp, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories. Naomi's legacy of love continues through her devoted daughter, Lois Reese, and her husband, John, as well as her adored grandson, John Brandon Reese. Her life was further enriched by the companionship of her siblings, Esther Elizabeth Windsor and David Ralph McCreary, and she was predeceased by her brothers John Mark McCreary, Paul Stephen McCreary, Daniel McCreary, James Thomas McCreary, Claude McCreary, and her sister Dorothy Miller.
Naomi's educational journey began at Greensboro High School, and she went on to attend EPC College in Allentown where she studied music. Her love for music was a constant throughout her life, and it brought joy not only to her but also to everyone around her.
Professionally, Naomi dedicated many years as a sewing machine operator for various clothing factories.
Naomi's interests reflected her vibrant spirit. She loved music, attending Bach at Noon performances, solving crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, and going for walks. She was also an active member of the Star of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bethlehem.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
