Renee Lucille Onstad was born on June 6, 1950, to George and Leone (Oles) Ardoff in Willmar. She grew up in New London and graduated from New London-Spicer High School. On January 3, 1969 she was united in marriage to Randy Onstad at Trinity Lutheran Church in New London. Together they were blessed with two sons, Kyle and Kelly. The family first moved to Minneapolis for Randy's work, living there for a few years before settling back in New London, which they called home. Renee and Randy managed the Spicer 66 gas station, and Renee also spent many years working as a secretary at Peace Lutheran Church.
Renee was an active member of The Open Door Church. She loved crafts, sewing, and making homemade cards, and was especially known for baking chocolate chip and monster cookies for her sons. Renee was an avid animal lover, especially fond of her cat, Max. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Renee will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her two sons, Kyle and Kelly (Jenni) Onstad; five grandchildren: Shane Guptill, Liz Onstad, Katie (Andrew) Blomker, Jacob Onstad, and Cole Onstad; and three great-grandchildren: Ellary, Ander, and Elexa Blomker. She is also survived by her brothers, Doug (Deloris) Ardoff and David (Pat) Ardoff; and her sister-in-law, Sandy Ardoff.
Renee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randy; her parents, George and Leone Ardoff; and her brother, Greg Ardoff.
