It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rex Poston, age 65, on July 21, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bartley Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Grace Methodist Church in Plainview, TX, with Kyle Brock and Rob Bridwell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home and Prairie View Crematory of Plainview.

Rex Poston was born on November 20, 1959, to Don and Nina (Barbee) Poston in Plainview, TX. Rex grew up in Plainview. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #709 and Seth Ward Baptist Church. He received his associate's degree in child development at South Plains College.

Rex married the love of his life, Donna Motley, on November 21, 1998, in Plainview, TX. He was a person you would never forget, and he never met a stranger. Rex was the best big brother and cherished spending time with his family. He liked to play cards at Christmas and enjoyed bingo. Fishing and hunting with his dad and brother were some of his favorite pastimes. Rex also liked watching sports on TV, including football (any team except the Dallas Cowboys), NASCAR, and wrestling. He made it a point to talk on the phone with his mom daily.

Rex is preceded in death by his father, Don Poston; and his niece, Janci Johnson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Poston of Lubbock, TX; his mother, Nina Poston of Plainview, TX; his sister, Misti Johnson of Plainview, TX, his brother, Cody Poston and wife, Margarite of Cisco Lake, TX; his nephews, Jarrett Poston of Abilene, TX, and Nate Johnson of Plainview, TX; his brother and sister in-laws, Gary Motley of Olton, Gayle Quigley and husband Daryll of Olton, TX; his aunt Kay Bradley of Plainview; and five adopted nieces and nephews.
