Richard Lee Ayres, beloved son of the late Johnny Ayres, Sr. and Ruth Ayres, was born on July 27, 1947 in Snow Hill, Maryland. He departed this life on December 16, 2024 at Shore Health and Rehab Center in Parksley, Virginia.
Richard, affectionately known as "Brim," was educated in the public schools of Worcester County. During his life, he worked in several industries as a truck driver. In later years, he retired Waste Management in Salisbury, Maryland. After retirement, he returned to the workforce part time at Shockley Company, where he worked until his health began to fail.
Richard was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church in Wattsville, Virginia. He served as a Trustee.
On March 2, 2005, Richard married Rosetta Tull and they shared nineteen years of marital bliss.
Left to cherish his loving memories are his wife, Rosetta Ayres; children, Shermita Ayres of NJ, Tywan Fooks of Seaford, DE, Richard Ayres, Jr. of Salisbury, MD, George Handy of Pocomoke, MD, Payton (Angela) Ewell of Salisbury, MD, and Clinton (Felicia) Tucker of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Johnny Ayres, Jr., Raymond Ayres, both of Snow Hill, MD, Donald Ayres of Fruitland, MD, and Alford Ayres of Wilmington, DE; sister, Mildred Ayres of Wilmington, DE; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
