Richard Dean Britton November 11, 1946 – June 13, 2025
Richard Dean Britton, of Mondovi, WI, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025 at the age of 78 at the American Lutheran Home of Mondovi WI.
Richard was born on November 11, 1946, in Mondovi, WI, to Glenn and Frances Britton. He grew up in Davis Valley outside of Gilmanton, WI, and graduated with the Class of 1964 from Gilmanton High School. While farming, he also worked at Koller Implement in Durand.
In March 1991, Richard married Judy Dregney. After their marriage, he sold the family farm and moved to Mondovi to start a new chapter with Judy. He began a long and fulfilling 34-year career as a fuel delivery driver with Bauer Built in Durand. After retiring, Richard found joy in working as a skills trainer at the L.E. Phillips Career Development Center.
Richard was a man of good humor and kindness. He loved spending time playing cards with friends and family and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas. A devoted football fan, he proudly cheered on the Green Bay Packers.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 34 years, Judy Britton; stepdaughters Debbie (Tim) Stanton and Kim (Lynn) Goss; grandchildren Darin (Claire Bee) Stanton and Katie (Brandon) Lynch; great-grandchildren Macie Stanton and Niko Lynch; sister Barb (Mike) Brunner; sisters-in-law Diane (Ron) Berger and Vicky (Frank) Burr; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Frances Britton, and his brother, Warren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi with Pastor Mara Ahles-Iverson officiating. A memorial gathering will be held at the church on Friday, June 20 from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
Richard's family would like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt and gracious thank you to the entire staff of the American Lutheran Home of Mondovi for all of the exceptional and loving care given to him during his stay. Your acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
