Richard Eder Obituary

Richard Eder, 89, of Troy passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025. He was born on October 8, 1935, in St. Louis, MO, the child of Henry Wolfgang and Eva (Ritter) Eder. After attending the local schools Richard enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He truly enjoyed serving his country. Richard worked for 42 plus years as a cement finisher. In 1956 the interstate highway work began. Richard worked on 270, 40, and many more. He was a hard worker and always gave 100%. When he wasn't working he enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing. Richard was a proud patriot and enjoyed attending Veteran's Coffee talk with all of his fellow veterans. He will be remembered lovingly by all who knew him.
His children; Laura (Ricky) James, Richard H. (Bridget) Eder, Diana Treat, Ron (Jodi) Eder, Loren (Sandra) Stevens, Leslie (Hayden) Ambrose, Lisa (Luke) Hahn, and David (Janet) Schaab, many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, his sisters: Marsha Vogel, Shirley Ward, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Kay Eder, and his sister, Carol.
A Celebration of Life to be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, 1:00 p.m., at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO, 63379, 636-528-8244. With full military honors.
Visitation will be held until 3:00 p.m. following the service, also at the funeral home in Troy, MO. Memorial donations may be made to Central Missouri Honor Flight c/o the funeral home. Family and friends may sign the online guest register at mccoyblossomfh.com
