Richard "Dick" Clifton Hamilton, 79, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Dick was born to Robert C. Hamilton and Ida Grey Dupree on October 09, 1945, here in Gonzales, Texas.
He graduated from Gonzales High School in 1964 and later attended Southwest Texas State and Graduated in 1969. Dick and his wife, Dana, married in 1968. He also served in the U.S. Navy in Da Nang, Viet Nam, 1969-1971.
Dick worked in management with JC Penny Co. for 13 years, he also worked as a salesman for Kactus Korral Wholesale Nursery for 18 years, and he retired 2007 when he and Dana moved to Corpus Christi. When Dana retired from ministry, the couple moved back to Gonzales in 2015.
Dick is survived by his wife Rev Dana Hamilton, their three children Russell Clifton Hamilton (Michelle), Kristen Love Alex (Kevin) and Ryan Corey Hamilton (Darcy). He is also survived by his grandchildren Kate Alex, Gray Alex, Rowan Hamilton, Ryder Hamilton, Rylan Hamilton, Mila Hamilton, Caitlyn Cozart, Carlee Cozart and Cooper Cozart and his 2 great-grandchildren Forrest and Rosemary. Dick was a loving, generous person who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Seydler – Hill Funeral Home on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral service will take place at the First Methodist Church on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 3:00pm. Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends and family may leave their condolences online by visiting www.seydlerhillfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers memorials may be made out to First Methodist Church of Gonzales, Austin Hospice and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
All services are under the care and direction of Seydler – Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas.
