Richard "Rick" Lee Mayo, age 72, passed away peacefully in Katy, Texas. Born on April 8, 1953, in Houston, Texas, to Charles Norman and Dorothy Mayo, Rick was one of 9 children in a large and loving family, with six brothers and two sisters. In May of 1978, Rick married the love of his life, Barbara Lehmann. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four children: Amanda Kanak, Chris Mitchell, Chad Mitchell, and Sean Mitchell. Rick was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren-Cole, Teel, Mary-Caroline, Eliza, Will, Lilly, Matt, Mallory, Blaine, Brayden, and Taylor-each of whom brought him immense joy. Rick spent most of his adult life as a commercial truck driver, hauling materials across Texas for CJM/Living Earth Technologies. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. A devout Catholic, Rick was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Frydek, Texas. His faith was evident in the way he treated others-with kindness, generosity, and wisdom. He was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a few words of heartfelt advice. Rick was a beloved figure in his hometown of Wallis, Texas. He had a warm smile, a love for country music, and a deep appreciation for time spent with family and friends. He will be remembered as an amazing father, grandfather, and friend whose legacy of love and service lives on in all who knew him. A rosary and mass will be held at Guardian Angel Catholic Church (5610 Demel St. Wallis, Tx 77485) on August 16th. A rosary will be said at 9:30am and mass will begin promptly at 10am. A reception and lunch will be held at The Stables on the Brazos (2955 Bowser Rd Fulshear, Tx 77441). All who knew and loved Rick are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
