Richard M. Logan, known to his friends and family as "Mikie," passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 50. Mikie was born on October 16, 1974, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Richard Logan and Patricia Scott Coogle. He was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and sense of humor touched the lives of many.

Mikie dedicated much of his life to helping others, working with the Addiction Recovery Institute of America, where he was a source of inspiration and support to those on the road to recovery. His compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to others' well-being made a lasting impact on all who knew him. Mikie believed in second chances and always tried to give others the encouragement they needed to succeed.

A passionate individual with many interests, Mikie loved the game of chess, often spending hours strategizing and enjoying the mental challenge. He was also a dedicated fan of the University of Kentucky sports teams, especially basketball, and could always be found cheering on his Wildcats with pride. An avid collector of Nike sneakers, Mikie had an eye for quality and a deep appreciation for the culture surrounding them. His love for classic rock music provided the soundtrack to much of his life, and he could often be heard belting out the lyrics to his favorite songs.

Mikie had an unshakeable love for his family, particularly his children, who were the light of his life. He was a devoted father, always eager to spend time with them and share his passions. He was also a big fan of Mountain Dew, and a cold can of it was often his drink of choice while relaxing or enjoying his hobbies.

Mikie is preceded in death by his grandparents, James Scott, Violet Scott, Junior Logan, and Barbara A. Logan.

Left to cherish his memory Mikie is survived by his parents, Richard Logan and Patricia Coogle (Ricky); 3 children, Autumn Logan, Chase Logan, and Baylee Morton; 2 grandchildren, Audrey and Blaire; 4 siblings, Brittney Stewart (Jerry), Terry Logan (Donques), Dustin Logan, Alisha Logan; several aunts and uncles; and a host of extended family and close friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

A funeral service for Mr. Mikie Logan will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 AM to 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will follow funeral service.
