Ricky Charles Beasley, at the age of 66, resident of the Oak Ridge community near Mount Olive, received the ultimate healing Tuesday morning, August 5, 2025, when God called him home. When death came, Ricky was being cared for with love and comfort at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He had battled cancer for 14 months with great determination, faith, and courage.

Ricky was a native of the Seven Springs area and was a graduate of Southern Wayne Senior High School with the class of 1977. He served over two years in the United States Army, having been stationed at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington. Upon his discharge, he served in the North Carolina National Guard for another six years.

After his tenure in the military, Ricky had been a long distance truck driver, always finding happiness out on the open road. He had also been a dry wall installer, and had done painting and maintenance. His last employment was in maintenance and up-keep at Cuyler Springs housing development in Goldsboro.

Ricky had a deep faith in the Lord and was faithful in worship with the congregation at Bear Marsh Baptist Church. Here he sang in church choir, would offer his voice and guitaring playing talents in special singing, and made himself available to do whatever tasks that he was able to accomplish. Too, he enjoyed singing and playing the guitar with other local musicians at community jam gatherings.

Ricky leaves behind his beloved wife, Rose Garris Beasley, to whom he was married for 42 years; their three children and spouses, Ricky Lee Beasley and Lindsey Taylor Beasley of Mount Olive, Brandon Charles Beasley and Holly Taylor Beasley of Richlands, and Kelly Beasley Cole and Brandon Cole of Mount Olive; grandchildren whom he adored, Mya, Trysten, Maddie, Laney, and Lexi Beasley, and Brynlee and Canaan Cole; a brother and sister-in-law, Willis Earl Beasley and Loretta Shivar Beasley of the Greensboro area; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor Beasley Jones and William Jones of Mount Olive, and Janet Beasley Holland and Bill Holland of Goldsboro; other sisters-in-law, Angela Garris Hughston of Faison, and Sallie Garris Fiore and husband, Ralph, of Clayton, and Jenny Garris of Goldsboro; several nieces and nephews; his church family at Bear Marsh; his friends from the jam meetings; work mates; and many others who felt Ricky to have been a dear friend.

He joins on the other side, his parents, Willis Marshall Beasley and Faye Gurganus Beasley; infant twin sisters; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, the Rev. Gerald Garris and Marjorie Pridgen Garris; and two brothers-in-law, Gary Hughston and Tony Garris.

The community, Ricky's family and friends will celebrate his life Friday, August 8, at 6 p.m. at Bear Marsh Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul Rose. Following the service, visitation will take place in the King Fellowship Hall at the church.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to Bear Marsh Church, 1649 Beautancus Road, Mount Olive, NC 28365, or Kitty Askins Hospice, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
