Rita L. Deforge, 100, of Colchester went to the Lord on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Rita was born in Burlington, VT on March 20, 1925 the daughter of Marie Boucher. She was employed at Empire Laundry and the Medical Center Hospital in housekeeping.
Rita is survived by her daughters Alice Parker and husband Stan of Winooski, Pauline Bezio of Colchester, Theresa LaRocque and husband Donald of Colchester; her sister Jeanette Thibault of Winooski; grandchildren Danielle Kane of Winooski, Chantal Bitzer of Winooski, Todd and Scott Bezio of Winooski, Renee Hammond of Plattsburgh, NY; her great-grandchildren Parker, Titus, Kayla, Morgan; great great-grandson Isaac; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Rene Deforge; her daughter Blanche Marie; her brothers Ovid, Laramee, and Johnny Boucher; her stepsister Anita King; son-in-law Armand Bezio, and granddaughter Mandy LaRocque.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 9, from 5pm to 7pm at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10, at 11:00am at St. Francis Xavier Church with burial to follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
