Rita “Grammy” Miles, 71, of Grand Saline, passed away on July 9, 2025.
She was born October 9, 1953, in Seagraves, Texas, to H.P. and Ruby Elizabeth Miller Shuffield. Rita spent her early years in West Texas before making Grand Saline her home over the past two decades.
A lifelong worker in the food service industry, Rita was known for her dedication to others. She was a member of Brook Besor Church in Golden.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Brittney Miles; great-grandson, Ayden Miles; and three sisters, Betty Combs, Charlotte Roberson, and Mary Jane Gray.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Miles and wife Michelle of Fruitvale, and Jimmy Miles and wife Andrea of Alba; her daughter, Mary Hilton and husband Clint of Grand Saline; two brothers, Charles Shuffield and wife Doll of Odessa, and Red Shuffield of Tahoka; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.
A celebration of Rita’s life will be held, by her family, at Riverside Mission Church on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 2 p.m., with Bro. Donnie Herring and Pastor Jimmy Miles officiating.
