Rita D. Moore, age 90, of Darlington, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born on November 13, 1934, in Darlington, the daughter of Jacob and Bertha (Tuescher) Buschor. Rita was raised in Seymour Township in Lafayette County and graduated from Darlington High School in 1952.
On February 27, 1954, Rita married Dean Davis. Together, they built a life centered on hard work and family while farming in Fayette Township. After Dean's passing, she continued farming alongside her son Karl. In September of 1988, she married Robert Moore at her home in Fayette, where she continued to live and work on the farm until her retirement in 2012.
Rita was a dedicated farm wife who took pride in the land and the life it provided. She was known for her quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She was a longtime member of St. Michael's in Yellowstone in Blanchardville and later at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle, where her faith was a steady foundation throughout her life.
Rita especially cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether attending a ballgame, playing a round of cards (particularly her favorite-Hand and Foot), or simply visiting over coffee, she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. She encouraged her family to work hard, show up, and always do their best.
Rita is survived by her children: Karl (Kay) Davis of Fayette, Diane Davis of Madison, WI, Julie Wilhelmson of Tomah, and Linda (Mike) Erickson of Fayette; her step children: Jim Moore of MO, Tammy (Dave) Humphrey of Shullsburg, WI and Doug (Mindy) Moore of MO, grandchildren; Grant Wilhelmson of Tomah, Karlee Wilhelmson of Denver, CO, Mitchell (Katelyn) Erickson of Madison, Alex (Kelsi) Erickson of Madison, Brett (Shannon) Erickson of Stoughton, Courtney(Kevin) Grossen South Wayne Wi, Brett(Mandy) Brooker South Wayne Wi and Lindsay(Joel)Wilhelmson Darlington Wi, great-grandchildren: Drew Brooks, Cole Erickson, Owen, Harper, Hadley, and Olivia Erickson, and Colin Erickson; many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Patti Buschor and Mary Buschor of Darlington; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Dean Davis; her second husband, Robert Moore; three brothers, Richard Buschor, Steve Buschor and Robert Buschor and one sister, Ruth Loring.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. Garrett Kau officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in rural Argyle. A visitation will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle.
