Very sad to hear of Gary´s passing. He was a joyful soul who now rests in God´s loving embrace...and he will sparkle in whatever hoop game the Saints organize in Heaven.

So sad to hear about Gary´s passing, I met Gary 43 yrs ago doing basketball games at mens league on Sat morning at Dot house, he asked me if I could help him out for 2 games after at Umass Boston and we went over there and gym was packed with ropes making the only path to court, it was / inner city hs all star games and I was only white person in gym and rookie referee, ran the court, made my calls, and then made one large offensive call on drive to basket and crown was silent. Went over to table to report foul and out of corner of my left eye I see this large man/coach get off the bench, walked over towards table table, crossed his arms and said to me: son, you have big balls making that call in hear and I ran up the court laughing and Gary and I have been laughing about that for 43 yrs, going to miss him as he was great funny person who didn´t get rattled by anyone and was pleasure to have officiated with him and have him doing games for me over the years,Eddie Farrell
