Robert “Bob” Brown, of Mobile, AL, passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born June 22, 1940 to Betty and Robert Brown, Sr. Bob was a dedicated and loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 26 years of service. During his time in the Air Force, Bob was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal; the Outstanding Unit Award; the Good Conduct Medal; the National Defense Service Medal; the Longevity Service Award Ribbon; the NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon; and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a Corrections Officer/Dispatcher at the Myrtle Beach Police Department and a Corrections Officer at the Mobile County Sheriff's Office. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially playing with his dogs, gardening, and serving his community.

Bob was a member of George U Potter Lodge 912 and Guy T. Smith, F & AM Masonic Lodge, Unit 883 where he served as Worshipful Master 2002 to 2003 and 2013 to 2014. He was also a volunteer for the Mobile County Sheriff's Office where he was awarded Citizen of the Year in 2013. One of his favorite things to do, that was near and dear to his heart, was to drive Shriner's children and their family member to their doctor's visits in Shreveport or Galveston.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Brown; his stepchildren, Robin Welborn, Richard “David” Welborn (Kawana), and Paula Motykiewicz (Chuck); his son Robert Brown; his grandchildren, John Welborn (Lesley), James McNeil (Sara), Austin Hoffman, Tisha Pruitt, Nikki Pruitt, Richard Welborn (Candice), Aaron Bechtol (Brooke), Jesse Bechtol, Evan Jernigan (Shannon); 21 great-grandchildren; his brother Jack Brown; and his nieces Lisa Johnson and Lynn Avecilla. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 pm, followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
