Robert Butler Sr., age 56, passed away peacefully at his home in Indianapolis, Indiana, on the evening of July 25, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer of the tongue and other health complications.

Born on August 9, 1968, in Los Angeles, California, Robert was the son of Gene and Doreen Butler. From an early age, he demonstrated a strong work ethic and a talent for hands-on craftsmanship. He found his calling in the construction industry, where he specialized in hanging and finishing drywall-a trade he pursued with dedication throughout most of his life.

Robert had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures that brought him joy. He relished time spent riding his Harley and was an avid fan of NASCAR and various other sports. When not on the road or watching a race, he found peace in his garden. His yard was a source of pride and inspiration, and he had been enthusiastically planning to plant more trees and flowers to enhance its beauty.

He is lovingly remembered by his father, Gene Butler; brothers, Joe Butler and Eric Butler; sisters, Bambi-Lyn Butler and Barbara Jean Butler; children, R.J. Butler and Sarah Carraher; and grandchildren, Evelyn, Brayden, Isaac, and Ezekiel.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held on what would have been his 57th birthday-August 9, 2025-at 12:00 p.m. at New Life Community Church, located at 1450 State Road 135 N in Nashville, Indiana. In accordance with his wishes, Robert will be cremated; there will be no viewing or casket. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for a shared meal in the church's fellowship hall to honor his memory.

Robert's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and strength to those he leaves behind. A Memorial Service will be held on August 9, 2025, at 12:00 PM at New Life Community Church 1450 State Road 135 N. Please send flowers to the New Life Community Church. If you have donations please get in touch with Sarah.
