He was born in Jacksonville, NC on August 12th 1959 to the late Robert Clarence Covil and Elizabeth Nell Covil. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Freida Aiken Covil; two sons, Christopher Boyd and wife Allison of Bracey, VA and Michael Boyd of Henderson, NC; one daughter, Nikki Locklear and husband Kelly of Laurinburg, NC; one brother, Wayne Covil of Colonial Heights, VA; one sister, Debbie Mcfarland and husband Richard of Sanford, NC; eight grandchildren, The sons of Christopher Boyd; Cody, Matthew and Jake, The son of Michael Boyd; Nathaniel Jordan, The Children of Nikki Locklear; Hannah, Kross and Jace and one adopted grandson, Jeffrey Combs and a friend of the family Laurie Mayer of Colonial Heights, NC.
Eddy Retired from BB&T in 2018 after a rewarding 37-year career managing various BB&T branches in Henderson, NC, Laurinburg, NC, Red Springs, NC, St. Pauls, NC, Lumberton, NC and Fairmont, NC. In recent years, Eddy Covil faced many medical issues. He faced those life challenges with great courage, perseverance and above all, his relationship with his beloved Lord and Savior. His ability to be a Christlike role model and his ability to counsel his family during times of stress will be greatly missed by not only his family but also by the people who called him a friend.
Visitation Service will be held at Westside Baptist Church on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 12:30 PM. Following Visitation, the funeral will be held also at Westside Baptist Church on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM with Paster Randy Locklear Officiating. His burial will follow at Alloway Cemetary.
Services entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Red Springs.

I worked with Eddy at BB&T in St. Paul´s. I am sorry to hear of his passing. There is a better place than here on this earth and I believe he is there. My prayers to Freida and the family.

I worked with Eddy at BB&T and I also knew his parents. It was a privilege to have known them.
I have no doubt that Eddy is with the Lord Jesus. Absent from the body present with the Lord. My condolences to Eddy's family; I am so sorry for your loss.
