COX
Robert Frederick "Bob" Cox Jr., age 80, of London, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 14, 2025, in Madison Health following a brief illness. Born February 5, 1945, in London, Bob was a son of Robert Frederick Cox Sr. and Ethel (Fout) Cox.
Following high school, Bob went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Known by many as the horse whisperer, Bob enjoyed his work both training and racing horses. While not at the barn, Bob found comfort shooting pool with friends, or fishing on the side of a bank.
Bob's memory will forever be missed by those who held him dear, including his son Robert F. (Tammy Hurley) Cox III and his daughter Kimberly Ann (Cox) Elliott; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews including special nephew Jerry Fout who lovingly cared for Bob over his last several months; numerous other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sharon Cox, and sister Vicky (Cox) Holcomb.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the Cox family with military honors and interment held in Dayton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's name may be sent to the funeral home for the benevolence of his family.
The EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, is honored to be serving the Cox family during this difficult time. Online condolences are encouraged to be shared at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
