Age: 77, of Haddonfield
Robert H. Dilks, M.D., (Bob) passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by family. He was the devoted husband of Connie (nee Hughes), a cherished father to Michael, Andrew and his wife Shelly, Katherine and her husband Andrew. Bob is also survived by his grandson by marriage Ethan and was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first granddaughter, Chloe.
A highly respected Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Bob spent many years at Associated Specialists for Women's Health in Washington Township. He found great fulfillment in delivering babies and providing compassionate care to women throughout their pregnancies. His dedication to his patients and their families was evident in the lives he touched over the years.
In addition to his medical career, Bob was a man of commitment and service. He was an active member of the Rotary Club and of Haddonfield United Methodist Church. At the church, he served as a visitation minister, participated in a Connect group, and was a loyal member of the church choir, master chorale and bell choir.
Bob's love for music was a defining part of his life. He began playing the piano at age 6, later learning the organ. Bob would occasionally play preludes and postludes on the organ for church services as well as play piano for Saturday evening services, sharing his musical talent with his church community. Music brought him great joy, and he passed that passion on to his children by encouraging patronage of the arts, music lessons and making four-hand piano a regular family activity.
Bob was also incredibly proud of his family heritage, tracing his lineage in the United States back to the time before the Revolutionary War. He loved to share stories of his family history, along with his knowledge of history, airplanes, and many other topics, offering a wealth of both practical and trivial wisdom to those around him.
Even with his long hours as a physician, Bob remained deeply involved in his children's lives, coaching soccer, participating in Boy Scouts, watching the Phillies play but only enjoying it when they were winning, and forever asking everyone to pose for pictures or sit down for slide shows whether they wanted to or not. He would also frequently travel with his wife and family to experience new cultures and places. He was a devoted father and husband, always eager to share in the joys and experiences of his family.
Bob's kindness, generosity, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Bob's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 12th, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM in the Sanctuary of Haddonfield United Methodist Church (29 Warwick Road, Haddonfield, NJ 08033), where his Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM. A live stream may be viewed at www.haddonfieldumc.org. Interment will be private.

I just finished watching Bob's memorial service. I may not have been there in person but please believe I was definitely there in spirit. It was a wonderful tribute to him and all of you. I will be forever thankful to have known Bob. I'll always cherish the memories made during your trips back to St. Louis and especially seeing him play the piano at the Scott Joplin house/museum. I appreciated his willingness to take me to NYC and the Jersey Shore. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Marge Robbins

I will always remember the years we worked together at BDK. It was a great group of people to work with, such nice memories. My husband, Mike, enjoyed conversations with you about WWII aircraft. Sending thoughts and prayers to Connie and your family. Deb Cannizzaro
