Robert W. Goodrick, 87, of Coloma, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Laurel Oaks Senior Living in South Haven.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 31st at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Visitation with the family will begin at noon and continue until 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to Caring Circle Hospice. Bob was born May 22, 1937 in Royal Oak, Michigan to William and Laura Goodrick. He was a graduate of Empire High School. Bob initially worked for the telephone company. He had an accident where he fell off a telephone pole and required medical attention. While at the medical facility, he met Catherine Grybus. The two had an instant connection and soon began dating. They later married on Oct. 10, 1959 and had celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to Catherine's passing in 2024. After they were married Bob worked at United Parcel Service for 37 years. After retiring from UPS, he worked an additional 20 years at Jollay Orchards.
In his free time, Bob loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed doing paint by number paintings and had created thousands of beautiful paintings over the years. Bob also coached summer baseball for a number of years and then became active with the varsity football team as a member of the chain gang. Bob was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Bob is survived by two sons, Robert (Debbie) Goodrick Jr. of Allendale, Michigan and Jack (Holly) Goodrick of South Haven; grandsons Nicholas Goodrick of Allendale and Andrew Goodrick of Spring Lake; his brother Virgil Goodrick; sister Shirley Goodrick; sister-in-law Helen Axe; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Laura; his wife Catherine; sister Jeanne Jenson; sisters and brother-in-laws Franny and Dale Norris, Delores and Ray Norris and Annette and Luther Krause; sister-in-law Virginia Goodrick; and brother-in-law Richard Axe.
