On the evening of May 4th, 2025 our beloved father was received into the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ. Robert (Bob) is proceeded in death by his loving wife Donna and is survived by his children, Lisa Marie Plaskett and Shannon Louise Daily and his Step-son Shawn Bryan Payne. Robert has four surviving grandchildren, Justin & Jarrad Plaskett, Cameron & Olivia Daily and three step-grandchildren. Jacob, Andrew & Rebekah Payne. Robert also has two great-granddaughters Andee & Madison Plaskett.
Robert was born in rural Oklahoma and moved to California in his youth. He was the oldest of five children of Mary Procter & Ruben Henderson. Robert also has two siblings from a previous marriage. He spent two years in the Navy stationed on the docks in Honolulu prior to the Vietnam War.
Robert was a quiet and reserved man and didn't speak much about his past or his youth. In 1961 Robert married hid first wife Margarette J. Wicks together they had two daughters Lisa Marie and Shannon Louise. In 1984 Robert met his sole-mate Donna Churchill and in August of 1987 they were married at their home in Rancho Cordova California, Robert taking on the challenge of helping Donna raise her then ten year old son Shawn.
Robert spent most of his working life as a small engine mechanic working at various shops along the way. Robert was always a hard worker, working all the way up until a few weeks before his passing. Not a mean word was ever said of Robert. He was a friend to all and always went out of his way to lend a hand. He spent many hours toiling in the service of friends and strangers alike. Robert was a proponent of Murphy's Law, in that, "Whatever CAN happen WILL happen," and always tried to think two step ahead. Robert spent his life fixing things and was very handy. One of his favorite TV shows was MacGyver and he emulated that character putting random parts together and inventing new and easier was to accomplish a task.
We Love you very much Dad, and will miss you.
We know we will see each other again on the other side.
