Robert “Bob” Jacalone, 87, of Moorpark, California, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, in Moorpark surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 21, 1937, in Southgate, California, Bob spent his early years on his family’s farm in Oregon before moving to San Fernando, California in 1948. He graduated from San Fernando High School in 1955, where he met the love of his life, Rosemary, whom he charmingly “stole” from another suitor. They married on June 9, 1956, beginning a nearly 70-year journey filled with love, adventure, and deep commitment.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for eight years, beginning in his senior year of high school. He went on to build a distinguished career in the aerospace industry that spanned over 40 years. Starting as a tool crib attendant, he rose through the ranks to become a Director of International Marketing. His work took him around the globe, traveling to every continent except Antarctica and included the highlight of attending and contributing to major international air shows.

Upon retiring from Northrop Grumman at 65, Bob and Rosemary made their dream of island living a reality by moving full-time to Maui. There, they became an active part of their community, building lasting friendships and embracing their Maui ‘ohana. Bob served for many years on the board of directors of Maui Hill , including multiple terms as president where he played a vital leadership role.

Together, with their lifelong friends, Bob and Rosemary visited every U.S. state capitol during many RV adventures across the country. They traversed across the continental United States twice in their motorhome, an incredible testament to their shared curiosity, love for travel, and zest for life.

Bob also cherished the outdoors, from annual fishing trips with lifelong friends to family house boating, water skiing, camping, and snow skiing trips across the country.

Service to others was a cornerstone of Bob’s life. He was deeply involved with the West Valley YMCA serving as a leader in the Indian Guides, Gray Y, Jr, High Y, High Y and the service group Y’s men. Bob was a founding member of the El Camino Real YMCA. Additionally, over the years, he led countless caravans and backpacking trips throughout the Sierras. Through these trips he mentored and shaped many young people, instilling in them a sense of character, adventure, and responsibility.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary; his children Rob (Roseanne), Mike (Mel), Shari, and Cindy; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren and Rosemary’s two loving sisters Charlotte Renna and Joanne Crafton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Sylvia Jacalone, and sons-in-law Lee Durgin, Jesse Cisneros, and Larry Osborn.

Those who knew Bob will remember his sense of humor, his fierce dedication to family, his generous heart, and his enduring spirit of adventure. His legacy of love, mentorship, and joyful living will live on through the countless lives he touched.
