Robert Clarence Jones, Sr., of Arcadia, MO, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 1 days. He was born May 3, 1934, in Arcadia, MO, a son of the late Clarence Isiah and Abbie Lucy (Sutton) Jones.
On December 10, 1956, Robert was united in marriage to Betty (Shipp) Jones who preceded him in rest on August 13, 2013. To this union four children were born, Barbara Martin and friend James Sutton of Pilot Knob, MO, Cheryl Denton of Morrilton, AR, Robert Jones, Jr. and wife Sharon of Arcadia, MO, and Carla Porter of Arcadia, MO, all of whom survive.
Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, Randy Jones, Amy Price, Angela Garrett, Emmaly Bates, Shari Ivester, Anna Hastings, Michelle Whited, Chub Jones, Abby Porter, John Porter, and Robert Porter; many more great-grandchildren, his special nieces and nephew Ricky, Janet, and Kathy who he helped raise as his own, more nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
He is preceded in rest by his parents, his wife, Betty, a great-grandson, Christian Jones, two brothers, Albert Jones and a baby brother in infancy, and two sisters, Nellie Osbourne and Jaunita James.
After serving his country in the United States Army, Robert worked many years for Mine Supply Company as a pump repair mechanic, and worked his way into administration. While he worked hard for the company to support his family, Robert became a very talented musician. He played the guitar and he played it well! He lived a life of music that most only dream of. He played music in a group of guys called the Arcadia Valley Boys, played music with some of Nashville's "older" country stars, and also played on the Ernest Tubb Radio Show and played at the Grand Ole Opry. His life was what dreams are made of for most musicians.
Robert Clarence Jones, Sr. was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am from the Cole Family Chapel.
A Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, beginning at 5:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm from the Cole Family Chapel.
Interment will follow the services in the K of P Cemetery in Ironton, MO with full Military Honors.
Elder Mark Sutton will be officiating the services.
