View Funeral Webcast Robert E. "Bob" Lowe, 75, died July 20, 2025, at Clara Barton Hospital ER, Hoisington, Kansas. He was born August 22, 1949, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Odra "Jack" and Marguerite C. (Riley) Lowe. Bob graduated from Hoisington High School in 1967 and then attended Salina Vo-Tech for diesel mechanics. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving as an E4 during the Vietnam War. A lifetime Hoisington resident, Bob worked as a driller in the oil field for many years with Woodman Iannitti Oil Company. In 1990 he took a job with the City of Hoisington retiring from the power plant in 2013. From 1974 to 2001 Bob served on the Hoisington Fire Department, he was a member of the V.F.W. Post #6240 of Russell and the IBEW. An avid outdoorsman Bob loved hunting and fishing. He loved watching his grandkids play sports and especially enjoyed softball games. On January 30, 1982, he married Connie L. Friedly at the First United Methodist Church in Hoisington. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie Lowe of the home; a stepson, Jayme A. Hulse of Great Bend; two daughters, Lori Jo Lowe and husband Courtney Bryant Sr. of Great Bend, and Heather Jean Knoche and husband Scott of Stafford; nine grandchildren, LoCora Byrant, Jevon Mogbo, Kyeal Mogbo, Sean Hulse, DeShawnna Bryant, Courtney Bryant Jr., Scottlyn Knoche, Aaron Knoche and Ian Knoche; and a great granddaughter, KyZarie Mogbo. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Ron Bailey presiding. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Hoisington City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bruce Woydziak Scholarship Fund care of the Hoisington Fire Department or Kans for Kids, all in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington KS 67544.
