He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Lillian Kunz Marek of El Campo; children, Roberta Jay of Sante Fe, Patrick Marek of El Campo and Ron Marek of Kingwood; grandchildren, Jeremy Jay, Josh Marek, Phillip Marek, Robert Marek, Sam Marek and Sarah Marek; great-grandchild, Madelyn Jay Simpson and siblings, Mildred Chovanec, Lillian Vrana and Marvin Marek.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Marek; siblings, Felix, Frank, Vlad, Albert and Peter Jr., Rosie and Josephine.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2 at Triska Funeral Home in El Campo with a Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Flagg officiating. Burial with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251 will follow at St. Procopius Cemetery in Louise.
Memorial donations in memory of Robert may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
