Robert Lee Massey, a cherished resident of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on December 17, 1965, in Hendersonville, Robert lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a deep love for his family and community.
Robert was a graduate of Greer High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and integrity. For over two decades, he served as a print machine operator at Manual Woodworkers, a role in which he took great pride and through which he contributed significantly to his community.
A man of few words but deep passions, Robert found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid movie enthusiast and loved watching car shows, where he marveled at the craftsmanship and beauty of classic automobiles. Those who knew him well will remember his generous heart and his innate ability to bring peace to those around him. He was a peacemaker, always striving to resolve conflicts with kindness and understanding, and his nonconfrontational nature was a testament to his gentle spirit.
Robert's greatest joy was his family. As a devoted step-grandfather, he played a pivotal role in the lives of his step-grandchildren, raising them as if they were his own and leaving behind a legacy of love and guidance that will be cherished for generations to come.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, David Lee and Jo Ann Anders Massey; his dear wife, Mary Jane Goodwin Massey; and his brother, Terry Lee Massey. He leaves behind his sister, Barbara Massey, and many extended family members who will forever hold his memory close.
A graveside service to honor Robert's life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 11, 2025 at the Jones Family Cemetery, where friends and family will gather to pay their respects and celebrate a life well-lived.
