Robert Miller Obituary

North Franklin- Robert Harvey "Bob" Miller, of Manning Rd., passed away March 31, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born October 13, 1946 in Wethersfield, CT, the son of the late Harvey A. and Viola (Hoering) Miller.
He married Gail (Sturdevant) April 12, 1969 in Danbury, CT. She survives him.
He had served as a Staff Sergeant in the Unites States Air Force. He worked as a project manager for Atlantic Research Corporation.
Bob loved to garden and enjoyed riding on his lawn tractor. He loved birds and was an avid builder. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife Gail.
In addition to his loving wife Gail of 55 years, he is survived by his sons Christopher Miller and Mark Miller, brothers Alan Miller and Donald Miller, and by his grandchildren Alexandra, Samantha and Adam Miller.
A funeral service will be held at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave. Norwich on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 1 pm. Visitation will be held two hours prior from 11 am until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be private for Bob's family.

When Bob found out about his illness, he wrote this touching message to all of his family and friends:
This is my farewell message to friends and family. I have small cell lung cancer that is terminal. Please do not feel bad for me. Gail and I have had a loving wonderful life together. We have been very lucky in almost all aspects of our lives. We have two wonderful boys, two granddaughters, and a grandson. We have traveled extensively and have been able to enjoy the world. I have been fighting this cancer since January 2023. I had many treatments of chemo, radiation, pills and about a hundred trips to the doctor. Recently I have gone downhill. I am now in bed or lying in my lazy chair 24 hours a day. Gail is my angel who takes care of me. It is not easy to enjoy this life but it is snowing this morning and it is pretty watching it come down. I am looking forward to flowering trees and warmer weather this Spring. I have never been much for words, so I will say goodbye now and wish you all well.
