Robert Miller Obituary

Robert Lee "Pops" Miller, SMSGT Ret., passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025, after a brief illness. Family will have a time of visitation beginning at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron, followed by full military honors presented at 11:00 AM. At Pops wishes, burial will be private.
Born in Covington, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Lova Welbaum Miller, Pops proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1985. He served in Vietnam, receiving numerous medals and commendations for over 23 years of dedicated service to his country. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, hot dog roasts with the neighborhood, fishing, NASCAR, and reading a good book.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Horton (Terry Fowler); grandsons, Tony Campbell (Meghan), and Terry Campbell (Samantha); great grandchildren, Clay Campbell, Ellie Campbell, Alaina Campbell, and Sammy Campbell; brother and sisters, Janie Ginter, Fred Miller, Cathy McKirby (Ty), Madonna Chaney, and Patty Taylor (Ronnie); numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and furbabies, "Franzel" and "Boots". He is preceded in death by his wife, Karin Miller, and sisters, Mary Jackson, Charlotte Huey, and Laura Vanover.
Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
